Flying with the Dove
& Her Loves

He is growing up

My little man is getting to grown up and it is breaking my heart. He is getting so strong and alert and sooo big. He is a whopping 13 pounds and over 2 feet long! I just eat his puffy cheeks all day long and he is such a smiler. His singing is the most beautiful happy sound I have ever heard and it is like falling in love with someone for the first time every day! I now really believe he loves me back and knows who his mom is. The past week every time I pick him up to calm him down he calms so quickly and takes a big fistful of my hair so I won't put him down. When I go to put him down he cries and grabs on harder. I love my son so much and I thank God everyday that he would send me something so special.

Grey's favorite cousin

Blessed

Sunday, September 22, our sweet little Grey was blessed in church. Nate made it short and sweet and was nervous as can be. He blessed him to be smart and to be a leader among his peers. I told him to bless him to be so smart that he won't date until he is 21 and that he will always love his mom the most of everyone... but he didn't say that part. Aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and friends from all over came to celebrate baby Grey and all he did was sleep! He must not like all that attention. We had hawaiian haystacks and yummy desserts and it was the most perfect day so people played outside and talked for hours. I have the best family and friends and I am so happy to share them with baby Grey.

UTAH vs BYU

Grey enjoyed his first rivalry game! Ok he slept through it... but I am sure he was stoked that Utah took the win :). We spent the first half with the Owens/Lofgrens in their new home and Grey was passed around with love. We then got to watch the rest in bed while Grey snored away in his crib. Maybe football isn't his thing...

Back to work...

It was a hard day as I got ready for work for the first time in 2 months. Grey was asleep in his crib and I left my uniform draped over the side of the crib while I showered. When I came back he was still asleep but grabbing my work badge in a death grip. I tried to gently pull it out and he woke up and pulled it even harder away from me until he had the whole thing. It was like he was saying, "you can't go to work, sorry mom." It was pretty dang cute and just what I needed to feel like he would miss me.

And this is how I left him for Aunt Brieann...

Over the country and through JFK to Grandmothers house we go...

Grey finally got to meet his other grandparents in New York this month. We wanted to wait until he was 2 months for us to throw him on a plane with 200 other germy people. He was so perfect on the plane; just slept the whole time. Right when we were settled in for landing he started "tearing up his shorts" (as Nate would put it) and it got all over his dad. Gosh I was sure glad I wasn't the one holding him, Nate was so not having fun during that long taxiing in JFK. We got him cleaned up and happy and ran him down to meet the Morgans. Grey had the biggest smile on his face when his Grandpa Tom took him for the first time. It was so precious. Grandma Debbie rode in the back with him all the way home and didn't put him down until we left a few days later.

On Friday we left Grey at home with Grandma and went on a little adventure. We started out in Hoboken, NJ to go to the famous Cake Boss, Carlos Bakery. The line was only like 15 min and we were so happy! We got to see Mauro and Maddalena and they are my favorites on the show. I tried to get Mauro in a picture but every time I got close he went back up stairs! I was so sad! We got some cake, cannoli s and crumb cake (so freaking yummy) and it was a wrap. We had yummy giant NY style pizza next door and it was soooo good. Hoboken is such a darling town and I want to go back to just shop and eat. I think I could have spent all day there!

After all the sweets and greasy food there was no way we were getting on the subway to see Manhattan so we were daring and DROVE through it in the big mamma van. It was such a terrifying drive but it was such a cool way to see the island; no weird smells, sore feet, and hot subway tunnels!

We ended the day strolling down cute Scarsdale looking through shops and buying goodies. It was a perfect day.

We had such a great time with the Morgans the rest of the weekend. It was nice to just hang out and be together. 2 more years... we can do it!

We had a great ride to the airport. Grey loved it...
