Flying with the Dove
& Her Loves

So yes, it has been forever...

Life moves faster than I ever expected it to. Grey is now 13 months old and running around like crazy. He is so goofy and he is learning new tricks every day. I am so in love with him and the crazy life he brings me. California is as fun as ever. We moved into a new apartment a few weeks ago and are starting to feel settled in. There is still construction going on around the property but it is getting really nice and we love it already. Work for Nate and I is beating down on us but we have each other to come home to and it makes everything ok. We miss our wonderful family and friends though! I just wish everyone could move next door to us and we would have the best of both worlds.

Brieann is due to have Baby Lenox September 15th and I am SO excited for her to be here! She is going to be so spoiled by our family! It is coming so soon! My mom, Seneca, and I threw her a shower with family and neighbors and it was so much fun.
Not the very best pictures but I swear it was cute...
Grey turned 1!!!
We came home to Utah to see our family and have a little party. He loved all of the attention and was so happy!

My BFF Lindsay is getting married! She came down to stay with us and left with a ring on her finger. We were so lucky to get to be a part of the proposal. We just love Dave and Lindsay and can't wait for them to get hitched!

A MOM

For me in my life, the greatest moment was becoming a mother. Grey has taught me so much more about life and about what things are most important. I spend less time worrying how the world sees me and what things I need to be happy and more time appreciating what amazing things I do have and the importance of love and family. I still have a lot to learn about being a mom, it definitely has taken time to figure out. Thank goodness for Grey's patience. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect person to be sent to my life and I am so incredibly grateful for this little person.

The blessing of being a mom to sweet Grey could not have been possible without the other half of his genes... his dads. Nate is the single most amazing person I have ever known and has made motherhood so perfect for me. His patience, unconditional love, and pure heart has gotten me through many hard days and trials. I cannot fathom what I could have possibly done in my life to deserve him but I know that I am incredibly blessed.

The motivation I have to be the greatest mom I can comes from my own mom. She is so giving and has never once denied me help or comfort in life. Most of the time I don't even ask and she is by my side to help me along. I envy her strength (she smashes live grasshoppers between her fingers), her energy, her imagination, and her childlike happiness and fondness with the world around her. Everyone needs a Loretta in their life... I am so happy I have mine.

Flat Stanley Visits San Diego

My cute nephew Staton sent me his buddy Flat Stanley to take on adventures in San Diego. It has been hard to go a lot of places because I just started my new job and have been EXHAUSTED! But we finally took a beach day and a little drive to see some sights with him. La Jolla Cove is one of our favorite places minus the smell of the sea lions. It is just so beautiful. We went to Belmont Park in Mission Valley and the smell of funnel cake and ice cream alone is enough reason to love it. Then we went to see the Navy Ships downtown. I love this city :) !!!

Happy Birthday Macae!

My darling sister Macae would be 34 this year. When I would come visit her at her cute beach house in Encinitas, we were beach bums for days. I remember every time we exited the freeway to her home she would shout, "There is my ocean!" It is a love that we share. So after almost 9 years without her, I believe she is still there getting a tan and watching the dolphins swim by. I know she is with me every day and that she sent some of her sweet spirit with Grey when he came down to Earth. I miss you Mackie, I hope you had the best of birthdays!
